Work Packages Guide

How to access, create and manage work packages


A work package is a combination of one or more on-demand issues that are gathered and executed all at once.

1. Access Work Packages

To access the work packages page go to the main menu and select "Work Orders". Then, click on "Agenda".

In the agenda page header, click on the "Work Packages" tab.

Once on the work packages page, you can all the work packages and their information.

You can also access a work package through the calendar view. Click on the work package and then click "Go to work package"

2. Create Work Packages

Go to "On-demand" work orders and select one or more on-demand work orders or even multiple folders. Then, click on the "Schedule" button.

A new window will appear. There, select the "Create new work package" option. By default, that option is already selected.

Then give a name to the work package and define the execution date. 

Workers or teams assigned to the work orders you choose will appear in the "Assignees" field, but if you need to, it is possible to delete them and add new assignees by clicking on the "+" icon. 

After filling in all the necessary fields click "Next". In the next step, the selected work orders will appear.

By selecting the checkbox of one or more work orders the options “Remove” and “Change Assignees” will appear. If you click on change assignees you will be able to assign different workers or teams to specific work orders.

When everything is ready, just click the "Create" button in the bottom right-hand corner.

3. Edit Work Packages

Go to the work packages tab and open the work package you want to edit. 

Once inside, click on "Edit Work Package".

A new window will appear where you will be able to start editing your work package's main information and configurations. 

4. Add and remove work orders from existing work packages

It is possible to manage the content of existing work packages according to your needs by adding or removing work orders.

4.1. Add work orders

To add work orders to a work package that has already been created simply select the work order you want to add and then click "Schedule".

Then select the “Add to work package”

Then you just need to select the work package you want to add the work orders to. After doing that, the execution date defined for the existing work package appears in the place-holder form, but you can change it if necessary.

Note: If you need to change assignees or remove them from an issue all the steps are the same as indicated before.

You can also add work orders directly from inside the work package. First, open the work package in which you want to add the work order.

Then click on "Add Work Orders".

Finally, choose the work orders you want to add and click on "Add". The selected work orders will then appear in your work package. 

4.2. Remove work orders

To remove work orders from a work package that has already been created simply enter the work package and click on "Edit work package"

Then click "Next".

Select the work order you want to remove and click on "Remove"

Finally, click "Edit" once you have removed the work order.

You will receive a confirmation indicating that the changes have been saved.
